Most Greenwood property owners rely on private wells for their water resource. In the summer of 2011, a private well located on Oak Lane was found to have 16 parts per billion of arsenic in the water. This exceeds the 10 parts per billion “safe” level for arsenic. This serves as a good reminder for private well owners to test on a regular basis. Well owners are responsible for the cost of testing and remedying any problems found with private wells.
